New Business:
The following was approved by those present at the meeting:
- We cannot accept sign-ups at the tournament site. It is unsafe and too stressful for all involved.
- Registration for The Right Move Chess Tournament is on a first-come basis, limited to 250 free entries for Jan 14, The Right Move 229 at Riverbank State Park.
- Registration period begins on December 10, 2017. The free entry period ends when the 250 limit is reached or on Wednesday, Jan 10, at 8:00 PM; whichever comes first. A waiting list will then be established for those over the limit entries. This list appears on the web chesstrm.org/NYC/ and is updated by hand daily.
- Players on the waiting list will pay $30 Entry Fee at check-in on Sunday, Jan 14, 2018, if they still wish to play. (No credit cards)
- A Player who has signed up for three free tournaments and not shown up for any of them will not be registered for a future tournament, but instead will be put on a special list. Once the player shows up, he/she will be required to pay $5 refundable fee for having the name removed from the list for future tournaments.
- A Player who has signed up but withdraws before the tournament (‘something came up’, ‘sick’, etc. are to be thanked for their thoughtfulness.) The correct way to withdraw is via email to brjohnmcmanus@yahoo.com, Subject TRM 229 WD . Please give section along with name of person to withdraw.
- The pre-paid check-in list is a $5 refundable charge and lasts ‘forever’ or until said player is a no-show. It is unacceptable to be signed in and not show up for your match, leaving your opponent to sit and not get a match for that round. Brother John is responsible for keeping this pre-paid list up to date.
