April 8, 2018 Meeting of Corporation of the Board of The Right Move at Riverbank, New York, NY

Thank you to all who volunteered setting up sets and boards and greeting people, answering questions and making this event so enjoyable:  Special note to our all volunteer staff especially our President, Yvonne M. Scorcia, and her magnificent helpers: Marilyn C. Scorcia, Renée M. Scorcia, Henry J. Scorcia, Gabriel Bencosme.

Reports:

  • 10 people took the opportunity to join/renew uscf 1 year scholastic membership for $9.00
  •  Thanks to Carina Li, Jennifer Green, Dawodu G. Benga & annonymous for a total of $97.00 in donations that helps pay our bills to provide free chess for youth – Special thanks to Rosalyn Yalow Charter School for once again being our sponsor, providing for trophies, medals and rating fees. 
  • (Sponsorship is available for Oct, Nov and Dec of 2107.  Sponsorship fee is $200 per tournament. The Right Move is a 501c3 not-for-profit tax deductible organization.)
  • Riverbank State Park is due for necessary renovations that will begin in September of 2018.  The Right Move is privileged to have Roberto Clemente State Park in the Bronx as our host site for October, November and December and until the renovations are completed at Riverbank. 
  • 5 players took the opportunity to play round one ($5.00 late fee) after missing the deadline for free check in.  This  $25.00 goes right back into equipment and services for youth.

New Business:

The following was approved by those present at the meeting:

  • award ceremony will take place at 3:30 after all players have finished their games. No medals or trophies will be awarded prior to 3:30.
